In 1973, in Santiago of Chile of the first socialist president democratically elected in a Latin-American country, President Salvador Allende, the principal of the Saint Patrick School, Father McEnroe (Ernesto Malbran) makes a trial of integration between students of the upper and lower classes. The bourgeois boy Gonzalo Infante (Matías Quer) and the boy from the slum Pedro Machuca (Ariel Mateluna) become great friends, while the conflicts on the streets leads Chile to the bloody and repressive military coup of General Augusto Pinochet on 11 September 1973, changing definitely their lives, their relationship and their country

Filmen Reds

Så er filmen ‘Reds’ oppe, det har taget længere tid en jeg troede, men nu er den her, med danske undertekster. Desværre er den i to dele, det er et problem jeg vil prøve at fikse (med mindre i er ligeglade).

Reds

Reds er en film fra 1981, der handler om den amerikanske journalist og kommunist, John Reed og foregår under Oktoberrevolutionen i Rusland. Warren Beatty, der spiller hovedrollen som John Reed, har også instrueret filmen og fik en oscar for bedste instruktør for filmen. Manuskriptet er baseret på John Reeds bog Ti dage der rystede verden.

En ny film

Så har jeg fået smidt en ny film op Bread and Roses

Der er sikkert mange der er trætte af at skulle trykke på hvert rapidshare link for at hente en hel film, derfor vil jeg anbefale dette software som kan bruges til at hente en masse rapidshare links adgangen. Det man gør er at marker de ønskede links, hvorefter man højreklikker og vælger “Download with IDM”.

Så har jeg fået smidt nogle nye film op efter request, (kom endelig med flere forslag).

Det er nogle forholdsvis gamle film jeg har fået smidt op;

Salt of the Earth

Tells the tale of a real life strike by Mexican-American miners. The story is set in a remote New Mexico town where the workers live in a company town in company owned shacks without basic plumbing. Put at risk by cost cutting bosses, the miners strike for safe working conditions. As the strike progresses the issues at stake grow beyond that, driven by the workers’ wives. At first the wives are patronized by the traditional patriarchical culture, however they assert themselves as equals and an integral part of the struggle, calling for improved sanitation and dignified treatment. Ultimately, when the bosses win a court order against the workers preventing them from demonstrating gender roles reverse with the wives taking over the picket line and preventing scab workers from being brought in while the husbands stay at home and take care of house and children.

Battleship Potemkin, the (Bronenosets Potyomkin)

Considered one of the most important films in the history of silent pictures, as well as possibly Eisenstein’s greatest work, Battleship Potemkin brought Eisenstein’s theories of cinema art to the world in a powerful showcase; his emphasis on montage, his stress of intellectual contact, and his treatment of the mass instead of the individual as the protagonist. The film tells the story of the mutiny on the Russian ship Prince Potemkin during the 1905 uprising.

Drawn from an actual incident; the characters of Sid Hatfield, Cabell Testerman, C. E. Lively, and Few Clothes Johnson were based on real people.

Potentiality of Storming Heaven, the

“The Potentiality of Storming Heaven”. er en 28 minuter lang film-præsentation af oprøret fra december 2008 i Grækenland. Det fortælles gennem aktivisternes tanker og handlinger – dem som tog del i urolighederne. Videoen blev lavet i Thessaloniki i januar 2009, og blev første gang fremvist ved en åben diskussion omkring de græske roits efter mordet på den kun 15 årige Alexandros Grigoropoulos, fremvisningen blev holdt i et besat offentligt bibliotek i Ano Poli.
